WebbIntroduction. It was the American Psychologist Carl Rogers who was responsible for the introduction of Person Centred Therapy in the 1930’s. This being approach to counselling aimed at increasing the self-esteem and improvement of relationships with other people. The approach received increased popularity in the 1960’s and the study of mankind. WebbBased on GPCC's research, a variety of tools have been developed and adapted to support person-centred care. These tools are of four main types: (1) standards, (2) tools for education and learning, (3) tools for practical work in health care, and (4) tools for evaluation and measurement. Examples of tools of these four types can be seen below.
