WebMichael Ray Charles (American, b.1967) is a painter from Lafayette, LA. He graduated from high school in 1985, and then enrolled in classes at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA. Charles studied advertising and design, and earned a BFA in 1989. He continued his education at the University of Texas, Austin, and received an MFA in 1993.
