Web1800's. 1859 Founding of the Law School. On September 21, the Law School is founded, by Henry Booth, as department of the now defunct Chicago University. It is the first law school established in Chicago. Booth is inaugurated as the first dean and professor of the school. Twenty-three students enroll the first year and tuition costs $100 per year.
