Because the GPU is a massively parallel processor, Redshift constantly builds lists of rays (the 'workload') and dispatches these to the GPU.

What we need to do is allocate two/four chunks of smaller memory and put them together in the kernel. In latest release RaveOS - fix it. OpenCL can allocate more 4GB VRAM. Networks are usually trained using batches of sizes: 16, 32, 64, … – depending on your GPU memory, but also other factors; and it doesn’t have to be 2^x values either :).
