Web10 years playing, can't hit high C. I've been playing trumpet for almost ten years now, even taking lessons for three years, but I have a problem. I can barely put out a high C (the closest C above the staff). I've been told many different techniques, and have tried many styles and suggestions, but nothing seems to work. WebI find "new high notes" start getting more comfortable when the notes about a minor 3rd below are solid and feel like middle register, so for example if my new note is double F i'd work on getting C-E sounding solid, easy lip slurs and tonguing (I've been doing clarke #3 for this recently). Also make sure you're giving yourself off days.
